Day 19 - Jamberoo to Thirroul

Friday December 9, 2011, 60 km

On this penultimate day of the tour, it rains. The highlands are clad with clouds, and moist, vivid green foliage. A pageant of cows pass the Jamberoo pub, mooing along the high street, on their way to greener pastures.

By 8:30am Grigo and I are off on the Swamp road toward Shellharbour. Relaxed ride, raining on occassion. Nice country all around. One must negotiate Princes Hwy for a while, then on the Gand Pacific Route to Shell harbour. Here we had the worst coffe of the tour so far, and chatted briefly to a well known rugby league player whose name eludes me. From here we follows the grand pacific route towards port Kembla, passing the steel works, and then along the coastal route towards Thirroul. This is all known to me as I have ridden from Sydney to the Gong quite a few times, and as I believe many others have. Tomorrow to Bundeena, and the ferry to Cronulla and on to home.
